We are pleased to announce that on September 12, 2016, our practice, SportsMedicine Grant & Orthopaedic Associates, including our orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers and our physical therapy services, became part of the OhioHealth family of healthcare providers.

SportsMedicine Grant & Orthopaedic Associates (SMGOA) was the first practice in Ohio specialized in sports medicine and dedicated to the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. Our specialized team has grown to also offer expertise in joint and spine care. Throughout our 31- year history, SMGOA’s highly-experienced and expert team of orthopedic surgeons and staff have established a reputation for the highest quality of specialized care.  As we now become part of OhioHealth, our personal commitment to this exceptional care that you have come to know and trust will remain the same.

OhioHealth is a nationally recognized, faith-based, not-for-profit, charitable, healthcare organization with a family of 28,000 associates, physicians and volunteers. OhioHealth includes OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where we are members of the medical staff, in addition to several other hospitals and many health and surgery centers, home health providers and physicians throughout a 40+ county area. By joining OhioHealth, our practice – and you – will continue to have unparalleled access to the highest quality healthcare resources, technologies and services.

Beginning September 12, 2016:

  • Our practice name changed to OhioHealth Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Physicians.
  • Our downtown Columbus, Westerville, Pickerington and Lancaster office locations will be the same.
  • Our Gahanna office location changed to 504 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna.
  • Our physical therapy services at the East Town Street and Pickerington locations are now part of OhioHealth Rehabilitation Services. When you use these services, the bill for these services will be separate from the bill for your visit with one of our physicians or advanced practice providers.
  • Since our practice is now part of OhioHealth, your medical record also transferred to OhioHealth and will continue to be available to our physicians for your continued patient care. If you would like a copy of your medical record, you may call our main office at (614) 461-8174.

Since we’re becoming a part of OhioHealth, our physicians will continue to accept a wide variety of health insurance plans, but there may be some differences from the plans we accept today. Please call your health plan customer service phone number found on the back of your insurance card to learn if your physician’s services are in-network and covered by your health plan.
