SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates is committed to providing our patients with the best possible orthopaedic care and experience possible. We offer quick and comprehensive service at three convenient locations. Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and we care about your satisfaction and outcome.
We have patients that come to use from all areas of Columbus and the surrounding area stretching from Cambridge, to Mansfield, to Findlay, to Springfield, to Chillicothe, and to Athens. Our regional clinics in Dayton, Ohio and Huntington, West Virginia bring patients from those cities and the surrounding areas.
SMGOA treats a wide array of patients involved in all sports and from all walks of life. We treat athletes ranging from professional hockey and football players, to college and high school superstars, to junior high athletes and weekend warriors. We treat all these athletes, but we also specialize in treating active adults and individuals from all walks of life with sports-type injuries or other orthopaedic injuries, conditions or disorders. Our senior patient population is an every growing part of our practice as more and more patients are seeking relief of years of pain, discomfort and disability due to orthopaedic and arthritic conditions and disorders.
OUR difference is our approach to the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of the injury. We look at each injury in a similar way with all our patients...we want to fix the problem and help them reach their goal of returning to whatever level of activity they desire as quickly as possible.
We do this with a combination of conservative care when necessary and aggressive care when possible. This approach works well with our high school, college and professional athletes and we feel we can use it with just about anyone with appropriate safe guidelines.
Athletes
The board certified and fellowship trained physicians at SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates treat professional hockey players and football players, college athletes and high school superstars, junior high athletes and weekend warriors, the active exerciser and the occasional exerciser. We treat all these athletes with specialized care that athletes need and demand. We aggressively attack the problems with non-surgical treatments and/or rehabilitation, or if necessary, perform surgery with the latest techniques and procedures.
SMGOA offers physician services and therapy services to treat teenage middle school and high school athletes, college athletes, weekend warriors, professional athletes and those serious about their sport or hobby. We often see patients the same day and usually in less than 48 hours.
Our orthopaedic physicians specialize in surgical and non-surgical treatments for sports medicine injuries, spinal injuries, injuries to the hand and upper extremity as well as foot & ankle injuries. We have served as Official Team Physicians and Sports Medicine Providers for more professional sports teams from Columbus than any other practice. Our expertise helps us treat these pros...let us provide you with "your" pro treatment. Call us today @ (614) 461-8174 for an appointment!

Adolescents
The board certified and fellowship trained physicians at SMGOA specialize in treating teenagers at the middle school and high school level for sports-related injuries and orthopaedic conditions. All of our sports medicine physicians serve as team physicians for local high schools and they understand the needs and requirements that adolescents and adolescent athletes have. These students and athletes want to be treated as soon as possible in order to return to their activity or sport as quickly as they can. We often see patients the same day and usually in less than 48 hours.
We tailor our treatments for these students and athletes with many of these athletes being injured because of overuse problems. We educate them on proper recovery methods for their current injury, but also educate them on prevention. This includes teaching them ways to help strengthen their muscles for protection in an effort to help minimize the risk of injuries in the future.

Adults
At SMGOA, our adult patients represent our broadest treatment spectrum and we have physicians practicing in many orthopaedic sub-specialties to serve them. Our board certified and fellowship trained physicians may treat a college-aged individual who has torn a ligament in their knee or we may treat a middle-aged professional suffering from a meniscal tear that they suffered by slipping in the bathroom.
On the upper end of the spectrum, we treat individuals who have lived for years with old injuries or problems and are now looking to bring some relief to the pain in their body. We treat and educate these individuals on ways to help reduce the pain they have from arthritis, or we may find that surgical intervention can help "clean up" some of the problems they have from say, a torn rotator cuff from years ago.
As the adult population ages, many individuals often suffer from various spinal problems of the cervical or lumbar region. Others may have a knee or hip that has worn out from a very active adult lifestyle, or some traumatic episode earlier in their life, and they now require a knee or hip replacement. Our physicians specialize in treating these conditions and work to help restore an individual's normal lifestyle and help them return to work or their hobby.
Whatever the problem, SMGOA can help! We treat all of our patients with compassion and care. Seniors
Today's senior population is a very important part of our orthopaedic practice. Dr. Robert Fada is our joint replacement and joint revision specialist. He is a board certified and fellowship trained physician who sees patients at all three of our locations Downtown, Dublin and in Pickerington. He also sees patients regionally in Dayton, Ohio and Huntington, West Virginia.
Dr. Fada's patients come from all walks of life and from varied backgrounds. Many are individuals that have worked hard all their life and have most recently been experiencing joint pain due to arthritis or other orthopaedic conditions or disorders. Whether it is conservative non-surgical treatments, or surgical intervention, Dr. Fada works to restore their normal activities of daily living and often...pain free living.
Others patients may be former high school, college or professional athletes who have endured years and years of overuse and have simply worn their joints out and are seeking relief from pain or discomfort. Dr. Fada also treats these patients in a manner conducive to their goals of a continued active lifestyle.
