The board certified and fellowship trained physicians and staff at SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates work together as a team of highly trained specialists dedicated to the complete care of sports-related and orthopaedic injuries by offering a comprehensive program of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Our continually growing team of experts includes physicians who specialize in orthopaedic surgery and primary care sports medicine, as well as a therapy staff of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, certified and licensed athletic trainers and licensed massage therapists. They are all specialty trained in sports medicine and work together to offer our patients the best in diagnostics, treatment, surgery and rehabilitation.
Our staff will evaluate and treat athletes with the goal of returning them to their particular sports as quickly and safely as possible. The experience and knowledge of the physicians helps them develop a comprehensive and progressive treatment and rehabilitation plan. This plan incorporates the use of formal physical therapy and a home exercise plan for the best overall results and outcomes.
The key to our success is the specialized approach we take in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of these injuries and conditions. Many injuries are treated in the same way that injuries of professional athletes are, just on a toned-down manner, carefully developed for each individual.
A very important extension our clinical care and treatment is the expertise of certified and licensed athletic trainers (ATC’s) at the high school level. An ATC can continue the treatment plan at the high school setting, working with each athlete to full recovery in a safe manner. Our Sports Medicine Team of experts includes our surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic specialty physicians along with Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainers and sports trained therapists, all of whom evaluate and treat athletes with the goal of returning them to their particular sport as quickly and safely as possible.
Our experience and knowledge helps our team develop a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation plan that incorporates the use of formal physical therapy, exercises and treatments at the high school setting, and a home exercise plan. This plan is designed to aggressively rehabilitate injuries in the safest possible manner. In the high school setting, we rely on the expertise of certified and licensed athletic trainers (ATC) to supervise the rehabilitation programs and keep the athletes on track. This is a vital part of the recovery and care of many athletes.
At SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates, injury prevention is an important part of our care. Our physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapist assistants and certified and licensed athletic trainers work with athletes, coaches and parents in order to help minimize injuries, or minimize the chance of re-injury, by educating them on proper exercises and treatment.
Our Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainers work with high school and junior high schools athletes to help prevent injuries through education and strength and conditioning exercises. Our athletic trainers also use bracing and taping techniques to help stabilize joints and parts of the body to minimize the chance of injury or re-injury. When an athlete suffers an injury, our athletic trainers work with our physicians to rehabilitate their injury and return them to their sport in an aggressive, but safe manner.
Dr. Fada also has other patients that may be former high school, college or professional athletes who have endured years and years of overuse and have simply worn their joints out and are seeking relief from pain or discomfort. Dr. Fada also treats these patients in a manner conducive to their goals of a continued active lifestyle.
Paul DeGenova, DO, Director of Spinal Care and Surgery, treats patients that are experiencing orthopaedic back pain and/or other spinal conditions. He uses various non-surgical treatment options and, if deemed necessary, spinal surgery. These treatments help decrease pain and increase mobility, both of which can be very debilitating when dealing with spinal problems and conditions. By decreasing pain we can help a patient continue an active lifestyle, return to work, or successfully resume their activities of daily living (ADL’s).
